ESPAQFE Ingeniería designs and constructs solid liquid extraction systems for the obtention of extracts in different basis as a previous stage in the obtaining of flavors, coloring, aromas, infusions, etc., that can then be commercialized as such, concentrated or transformed into powders. This process involves the intimate contact between the liquid (solvent) and the solid (solute). Through this process it is achieved the diffusion of the component intended to be isolated from the solid to the liquid.
The parameters to be considered in this process are: granulometry, pH, temperature, contact time and the diffusion speed of the active principle to be extracted, that normally determines the residence times.
Then the solid and liquid are separated through filtration, sedimentation, centrifugation or a combination of them.
Espaqfe has installed continuous and semi-continuous solid-liquid extraction systems, in co or counter current flow. The final design always depends on the results of laboratory or pilot plant tests that are generally carried out according to the different behaviors that materials to be treated exhibit.
